En ese momento empezó mi curiosidad por este mundo en el cual entre rápidamente como casi todos con una pequeña emisora de cuarenta canales en 27 Mhz. En 1983 ya tenía mi primer indicativo concedido por telecomunicaciones: EC9FN y dos años mas tarde el actual.

Desde entonces he realizado mis comunicados en todos los modos posibles, fonía, telegrafía, digitales y a través del desaparecido satélite ruso RS-12 con el cual pasé muy buenos momentos. Otros eventos a los que asistí fué la utilización de la radio para el nacimiento frustrado de nuevos países como Chechenia o la República Turca del Norte de Chipre y no menos interesantes ha sido el contactar con las primeras transmisiones desde Palestina que no ocurrian desde el protectorado britanico o el nacimiento mas reciente de las nuevas repúblicas balcanicas tras la disgregación de Yugoslavia.

También he tenido la suerte de contactar con las primeras operaciones de radio tras la apertura de países comunistas como han sido las que se llevaron a cabo desde Albania, Birmania o Corea del Norte vetadas durante años.

Son muy numerosos los diplomas conseguidos en estos años pero sin lugar a dudas me quedo con los que a mi entender tienen mayor prestigio por su reconocimiento en contactos a larga distancia como son el WABA por trabajar bases de la Antartida, el americano de la ARRL 5BDXCC por trabajar 100 países en siete bandas diferentes y nuestro diploma nacional de URE y mas dificil 5BEADX100 por trabajar los mismos 100 países en siete bandas diferentes, siendo mi estación la única que lo posee tanto en telegrafía como en fonía.
